Adam Levin Adam Levin, Chairman and Founder

Fueled by a passion to protect and inform consumers, Adam Levin helped to ignite the growth of a new industry in 2003 when he co-founded Identity Theft 911, the industry leader in providing enterprise-level identity management solutions. This passionate fight against identity theft is reflected in his 2007 Keynote Address to the Georgia Consortium for Personal Financial Literacy, "Forget red states and blue states. When it comes to identity theft, we're all living in the same state — a state of emergency."

In 1982, he won the nomination to run for the United States House of Representatives in New Jersey's seventh Congressional District. When he retired from government service, he spent the next 15 years developing real estate while co-founding and operating one of the largest residential property management companies in New York City.

In addition to his responsibilities as Chairman of Identity Theft 911, he is Co-Founder, Chairman and principal shareholder of Credit.com, Inc. — an online financial services educator, advocate and gateway to trusted credit product and service providers for over nine million consumers annually. He is a nationally recognized expert on identity theft and credit and blogs regularly for Huffington Post and ABCNews.com. He has been called upon for his expert advice by outlets such as Bloomberg, Forbes, USA Today, and more.

He was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1975, and is a member of the Arizona chapter of the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators.

Adam holds an A.B. from Stanford University and received his law degree from the University of Michigan.
 
 
Adam Levin Herbert Pardes, M.D., Executive Vice Chairman

Dr. Herbert Pardes left the position as President and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System, and became Executive Vice Chairman of the Board of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Nationally recognized for his broad expertise in education, research, clinical care and health policy, he is an ardent advocate of academic medical centers, humanistic care and the power of technology and innovation to transform 21st-century medicine.

Under his leadership, NewYork-Presbyterian became one of the most highly regarded and comprehensive health care institutions in the world. The Hospital is top-ranked in the New York metropolitan area and is consistently ranked among the best academic medical institutions in the nation, according to U.S.News & World Report.

An outspoken proponent for academic medicine, children’s health education, mental health issues, access to care and information technology in medicine, Dr. Pardes is a regular guest on national television news programs and contributes opinion pieces appearing in the Wall Street Journal and other newspapers. He is active at the state and federal level, supporting legislation to help hospitals provide quality health care while balancing today’s economic realities with making the best possible medical care available to all who need it.

Prior to joining the Hospital in 1999, Dr. Pardes served as Vice President for Health Sciences at Columbia University and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. A noted psychiatrist, he served as Director of the National Institute of Mental Health and U.S. Assistant Surgeon General during the Carter and Reagan administrations, and was also President of the American Psychiatric Association.

Herbert received his medical degree from the State University of New York in Brooklyn and completed his residency in psychiatry at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, with additional psychoanalytic training at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute. 


Adam Levin David H. Cohen, Ph. D, Executive Director

After twenty years as an academic research scientist, David H. Cohen served as Provost at Northwestern University in the early 1990s and moved to Columbia University in 1995 to serve as Vice President and Dean of the Faculty for Arts and Sciences until 2003 and as Professor of Biological Sciences and Professor of Neuroscience in Psychiatry until 2008.

He is currently Vice President and Dean of the Faculty Emeritus for Arts and Sciences at Columbia and Professor Emeritus of Neuroscience in Psychiatry and Alan H. Kempner Professor Emeritus of Biological Sciences at Columbia. Dr. Cohen has served on the board of directors of Zenith Electronics, KLi Corporation, Learning Sciences Corporation, and as an advising partner to Knowledge Investment Partners. He currently serves on board of Eduventures,Inc. Oaktree Educational Partners, Inc., and Thuris Corporation. 

In addition, Dr. Cohen has served on the board of directors or trustees for various not-for profit organizations, including the Columbia University Press, the Research Libraries Group, Trevor Day School, The Grass Foundation, Argonne National Laboratory, and the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. He has served as a consultant for the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the Department of Defense, and the National Academy of Sciences. His major elected offices include President of the Society for Neuroscience and Chairman of the Association of American Medical Colleges. Beginning in 2009, Dr. Cohen began serving as Provost of the University of the People, a recently launched on-line, not-for-profit global university.
